The 2019 World Industrial Design Conference (WIDC) was held in Yantai, a coastal city in East China's Shandong province from Oct 18-20. Assistant professor Ding Zhuoqi, Class teacher of Industrial Design (Design Economics), attended the conference on behalf of Business School of SZTU.
More than 1000 representatives of design organizations, institutions and enterprises from over 30 countries and regions gathered in Yantai to explore how to promote the integrated development of industrial designs and economy and to further strengthen design exchange among different countries. A series of activities were launched during the conference, including an international roundtable discussion on design development, 80 parallel forums on the development of the international design industry. Dr. Ding attended the Forum of Design Thinking Affects Next Generation and the forum of New Species & New Track, Let the world See Design in China. She said: “Design is a business and designers should be in charge of the market, the design must be intergraded with technology and business to form a core competitiveness.”Due to the era of the design industry has begun, making design a new major area of innovation alongside technology and business models. Business School enrolled 30 Industrial Design (Design Economics) well-qualified undergraduates from six provinces in 2019. All domestics students admitted from Gaokao Division 1.
Business School will deepen the future cooperation with Creative Design College, and do their best to help designers become Better CEOs in the future.
