In the first three weeks of August, Prof. Dr. Ingo Striepling from OTH Regensburg led the Summer school in International Business Law at SZTU. The total of almost 120 students first dealt with an overview of the different legal systems of the world, the principles behind them as well as the main features of the private international law of China and the EU. The focus of the lecture was on the CISG (United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods), the most important set of rules in the field of international commercial contract law. Chinese is one of six official languages of this treaty. Based on many practical cases, the subjects regarding the formation of contracts, obligations and warranty rights of the contracting parties were deepened.

Despite the relatively strenuous working hours and the fact that the course was held entirely in English, the students showed their great interest with committed contributions to the discussion and continued to be open to such online formats with an international focus - at least as long as there are Corona-related travel restrictions.

The BS would like to thank Prof. Striepling for his contribution, which can be seen as a proof of the excellent relations of SZTU to its foreign partner universities and especially to OTH Regensburg.
